Stochastic Models for the Interactive Motion of Biological Agents

by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Alt
from Abteilung für Theoretische Biologie, Universität Bonn

Seminarraum Haus 2, 4. Stock (Bunsenstr.)

Typical examples of actively moving agents that physiologically interact with their "nearest neighbors", are swarming birds, but also human cells in epithelial tissues or in tumors. We explore most simple and effective dynamical models which are able to reflect observed phenomena such as density waves, swarm splitting or tissue formation.
