Abstract

This presentation gives some general results on two distinct topics. The first topic deals with the theoretical and experimental dynamics of nonlinear electromechanical devices and their synchronization when they are mutually coupled in a ring configuration. The second topic analyzes the conditions under which calcium waves propagate in an array of biological cells mutually coupled by paracrine signaling. The spreading of a local infection by a pathogenic microorganism is also analyzed.
